We are excited to announce our Festival programme available online - go forth and browse!  In the countdown to March 4th we will be blogging like mad to bring you teaser interviews, videos and tasters of some of the festival highlights to come. This week we caught up with Jessica Hausner about her new mysterious and beautifully compelling feature Lourdes and Destiny Ekaragha about her short film The Park which kicks off our UK shorts programme.

Birds Eye View is back for its 6th annual Film Festival

Celebrating, championing and showcasing women filmmakers: 9 jam packed days, 8 inspired features, 6 penetrating documentaries, 21 visionary shorts, vocational training events, cutting-edge fashion and music films, BEV's already famous commissions of new scores by your favourite musicians to classic silent films, plus a glittering bevy of celebrities and filmmakers.

Austrian writer-director Jessica Hausner has really made her name on the festival circuit over recent years. Her latest film, Lourdes is a beguiling mystery which was nominated for the Golden Lion in Venice last year and is anticipating BEV and Sundance success this spring! Destiny's star is rising and we are pleased to be able to include her third film, The Park, in our UK shorts programme which celebrates home-grown talent. The film is is a funny, honest and bittersweet portrayal of adolescent male relationships - especially with one another!

Yarn: Celebrating Story and Storytelling

YARNfest, February 20 - 24, 2010

YARN is a brand new festival celebrating story and storytelling – showcasing film, theatre, music and literature and providing a platform for mixing them all up! YARN Festival Director Gemma Mitchell does many things including being a programmer for our short film strand. When she told us about YARN we were most excited!
